Inspection 2007

Housing associations are subject to occasional inspection by the Audit Commission, a government agency where inspectors visit organisations to assess the quality of the services provided to residents. An inspection of James Butcher HA was undertaken in May 2007.

During the course of the inspection, the inspectors were based at the Theale office. They carried out interviews with managers and held focus groups with staff and residents. They visited some of our schemes and the Group's Service Centre in Horsham. The key questions which they focused on during the week were:

  • How good are the services provided to residents?

  • What are the prospects for an improvement in the quality of those services?

What happens next

The inspectors will produce a report detailing their findings, which we expect to be published later in the summer.
